Community Strengthening on Religious and Traditional Leaders

Masoyi Home Based care is implementing the Faith Based & Traditional Leaders Project as a Sub-Recipient, which is mainly based on CSS (Community Systems Strengthening) interventions with religious and traditional leadership structures/platforms (i.e. Christians, Muslims, Rastafarian, Chiefs, etc.) to conduct community outreach work and leaders dialogues with vulnerable populations, in the Ehlanzeni and Nkangala District within the Mpumalanga Province.

Part of the activities of this programme, is to conduct dialogues with religious & traditional leadership structures/platforms (to discuss/address the drivers that influence the patriarchal underpinning of discrimination & GBV)

Apart from the dialogues with the Traditional & Religious Leaders dialogue; the project is doing community outreach work with vulnerable populations (residents of informal settlements, the unemployed, refugees); to provide a HIV, TB prevention education. This is done through home visits and awareness campaigns.
